The Nutcracker Suite: Late Elementary/Early Intermediate ReviewPurchased this Nutcracker Suite piano version for my eldest child after they played a violin part in a youth orchestra. However, a younger sibling liked the music so much they claimed the book for themselves. The music sounds nice, and the arrangements are true to the ear for those listening. A good introduction to Nutcracker for the piano student who is around a level 3/4.The music is challenging due to the rhythms; this book is for children who have been playing piano for a few years or have musical experience.
My child was in Alfred's level 3 lesson book, Faber and Faber Rag Time level 3, Finger Power 3, and had played songs from a Bastien piano classics book for recital pieces.
March took a little extra time for my child to work through due to the blend of rests on treble and bass.
Arabian Dance has been a favorite to play and hear; was a Christmas recital crowd pleaser since it wasn't boring music out of a lesson book or the usual songs everyone knows and has heard many times, a little different yet familiar.
