Twilight: New Moon: Music from the Motion Picture Score for Piano Solo ReviewFirst, I want to make clear, that these sheets are a transcription of ALL instruments played in the original score to the piano, both violins, cellos, and everything else.I will go through what I think of the sheets one by one.
"The Meadow": When I first heard "The Meadow" I was so moved, I had to know how to play it on the piano, and since I'm dependent on sheet music, I searched and found these sheets. I was thrilled to know it had "The Meadow" sheets, so I bought it. When it arrived I tried to play it, but somehow it seemed far from the actual score, so I tried to compare them, and was in for a big surprise. It had to be played faster than I expected, but it's COMPLETELY off!!! Somehow this isn't a very good transcription, because it almost couldn't be farther from the original score.
The intro (2 measures) is just wrong! It's not the same at all. Next when the theme really begins, it looks the same the first few measures, but in the 6th measure it is completely off; the notes aren't even close to be what they're supposed to. It sounds VERY odd when you play it the way it says in the sheets, and this is just NOT the same!!!! I'm still waiting to see if it actually fits anywhere! When you get to the 2nd page, there are some measures missing, compared to the original score, then 1 measure is almost correct, then it's just wrong.
"Romeo & Juliet" is also wrong (to me at least it seems to be) and it is much shorter on the sheets than the actual score.
"Volturi Waltz" is also off.
"Edward Leaves" looks like it's okay.
"I Need You" looks okay as well, and it actually matches the length of the original score.
"Memories of Edward" seems off as well.
"Almost a Kiss" is also off.
"Adrenaline" looks okay, but is off.
"Dreamcatcher" has measures missing (if not, it fails to say where to repeat what and for how long), and is off.
"To Volterra" looks okay, but has measures missing.
"You're Alive" seems to be alright, but has the same problem as "The Meadow" where some of the notes are wrong, compared to the original score. The sheets matches the length of the score.
In "The Cullens" the sheets match the first 35 measures, but then it gets off.
"Marry Me, Bella" has the intro right, but the rest is not.
"Full Moon" is exactly the same as "The Meadow", because NOTHING is correct.
The sheets overall are very easy to read, but wrong.
One good thing is that it arrived in the condition promised, but other than that, this is such a rip-off!
I rate this to be a very bad product! If I could, I would give it 0 stars out of 5!
It seems an amateur would do a much more accurate job at transcribing this. You don't AT ALL get what you're promised, and it's just a waste of your money. I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to know how to play it. I was thoroughly disappointed by this product!
I hope other people will not make the same mistake I did.Twilight: New Moon: Music from the Motion Picture Score for Piano Solo Overview
