Premier Piano Course Success Kit, Level 1A ReviewI have been teaching piano lessons for many years. I started using this series this summer and really like it for a variety of reasons:1) It really teaches notes through how they relate to each other, not through rote memorization or finger number memorization.
2) The songs are interesting - especially with the teacher duet part (or CD that comes with it)... really fun, lively songs. There are fun songs, sweet songs, and classical tunes. My 7 year old son loves it.
3) Having the whole kit helps reinforce the concepts - with the theory and flashcards backing up the lesson book, and the performance book providing more opportunities for students catching on quickly. Everything is marked so you can tell what pages in the lesson book match the correlating parts in the other books and in the flashcards.
4) As I teacher, I usually used a notebook to write assignments in, but since the "home book" came with the kit, I've been using that. It really helps to have the outline for the assignments right there, and I just have to fill in page numbers and comments. Saves writing time.
