Josh Groban - Awake - Piano/Vocal/Guitar Artist Songbook ReviewI just received this book for Christmas, so I haven't played through every song, but I have a good idea of how it's going to go.First of all, the piano arrangement is good. It actually sounds like the songs, and it's complicated enough to make it interesting.
Next, there are lyrics, so you can sing along (or try), and there are guitar tabs, so you can attempt it with your other stringed instruments (my sister has declared she will learn Now or Never on her mandolin.)
Favorites so far:
I stumbled a bit through Now or Never, because of the timing, but it's a beautiful song so I have vowed to conquer it. For some reason the piano arrangement seems a lot shorter than the actual song (maybe I'm playing it too fast).
Mai is very pretty, and I appreciate the lyrics with the music (instead of verses at the bottom). Love this song. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful arrangement.
Machine so far is the most fun to play. I love the song, of course, and the piano arrangement is great. Not to say it's really easy, but I played through the first time and was able to sing along while I did so.
Awake is my favorite of Josh Groban's CDs, so I was very excited to work on this piano music.
